These Headstrong Women

Despite unreliable weather, it’s been a good summer for Bard In The Botanics, Scotland’s leading Shakespeare producers, and now, they move on to the second half of their 2017 season, titled These Headstrong Women. This time, the mighty Scottish actress Janette Foggo tackles the title role of Queen Lear, who abruptly decides to divide her kingdom among her children, with catastrophic results. And in the Kibble Palace, Bard boss Gordon Barr directs Measure For Measure, starring this year’s Cats award-winner Nicole Cooper as Isabella, the pious young nun who finds that she can save her brother’s life – but only at the cost of her own virtue.
