Woman, 22, attacked in early morning assault

A woman has suffered serious facial injuries after an assault in Inverness.

The 22-year-old was attacked in the Grant Street-simpsons Lane area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police Scotland say the woman suffered facial injuries in the attack which is believed to have happened between 3.45am and 4.15am.

Detective Inspector Peter Mackenzie said: “We are appealing for information after a woman was seriously assaulted and sustained facial injuries.”
