Five in hospital after multi-car M8 accident

Five people have been taken to hospital after a fivecar accident on the M8 motorway.

Emergency services were called to the crash in Renfrewshire just before 9am yesterday.

Police, fire and ambulance services attended, and five people were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

An ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 8:57am to attend a road traffic collision on the M8 near Cardonald. We dispatched four ambulances, a paramedic response unit and a manager to the scene.”
