Haggas has high hopes at Ayr

-

Zwayyan can take a starring role at Ayr by lifting the feature Parkdean Resorts Glasgow Fair Handicap, writes Glendale.

William Haggas sends his charge on the long haul north from Newmarket for this class two prize, and the journey can be richly rewarded.

The four-year-old was certainly not a cheap purchase at 380,000 guineas back in 2014, but he has at least shown some ability in winning twice for Haggas last term before adding a third success on his most recent outing.

That verdict at Haydock last month went some way to restoring full faith in Zwayyan after he’d been a beaten favourite at Goodwood. He put that behind him with a battling head success on Merseyside, where switching back to a mile obviously had a positive effect.

It looks like Zwayyan is now finding his stride and something like the Betfred Mile at Goodwood will be on his radar if all goes to plan.
