Biker hits ambulance carrying crash victim

A motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries following a collision with an ambulance which was taking a road accident victim to hospital.
The crash involving the ambulance and the motorbike happened two miles south of Urquhart Castle on the A82 at around 3:25pm on Sunday.
At the time the ambulance was taking a male patient to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness following an earlier collision on the A82 at around 1:40pm.
Police said the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to Raigmore Hospital.
The road was closed to allow a collision investigation to take place and reopened at 8:35pm.
Officers are particularly keen to trace the driver of a small blue Fiat who may have been travelling south towards Invermoriston.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We attended a road traffic collision on the A82 at approximately 1340 hours on Sunday 16 July.
“One female patient in her 20s was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness by air ambulance.
“An ambulance taking a male patient in his 20s from the incident to Raigmore Hospital was involved in a road traffic collision with a motor-

The earlier crash involved a 35-seater bus that landed on its side around two miles south of Invergarry.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said everyone was out of the bus by the time their crews arrived on site. It not known how many passengers were travelling in the bus at the time.
