Two men appear in court over murder of Scottish businesswo­man in Mauritius

Two men charged in connection with the murder of a Scottish businesswo­man in Mauritius have made a second court appearance.

Janice Farman, 47, originally thought to be from Clydebank, West Dunbartons­hire, was found dead by police at her home in Albion at around 1am on Friday 7 July.

Her ten-year-old autistic son was in the property at the time.

Ravish Rao Fakhoo and Kamlesh Mansingh, both 25, 0 Janice Farman was found dead at her home were remanded in custody after appearing in court in Port Louis yesterday.

They first appeared in court last Tuesday. A Mauritius Police Force spokesman said: “A provisiona­l charge of murder has been lodged against them.

“No plea has been entered at this stage.

“They have been remanded to police cells until 25 July. “The inquiry is still ongoing.” The men are from the Quatre Bornes area of the Indian Ocean island.

A third suspect, Anish Soneea, 18, appeared in court on Friday and was remanded until 21 July.
