MP wears Scotland top ahead of England game
An SNP MP wore her team’s football strip in the Commons ahead of Scotland’s opening match against England in the Uefa Women’s Euro 2017 finals in the Netherlands.
Hannah Bardell stood up to speak during Scotland questions wearing the football kit, adding she wanted to offer the “very best wishes” of everyone on the SNP benches to the Scotland women’s national football team.
The MP for Livingston said: “I’m wearing the colours, I hope you don’t mind, I used to play alongside two of Scotland’s national players at university. Their career has obviously done better in football than mine.”
A good luck video message from Ms Bardell was also posted on the SNP’S Twitter account. The footage featured the MP practising her football skills in her kit, alongside the tweet: “Come on Scotland! You’ve done us proud and we’re all behind you.”
