Man held after boy hurt in road accident

A 33-year-old man has been detained by police in connection with a serious road accident in Inverness involving a four-yearold boy.

The boy suffered serious injuries in the collision in Springfield Gardens at about 7.45pm on Tuesday. He was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment, where his injuries are said to be serious but are not thought to be life-threatening.

Inquiries are continuing.
