Is it deliberate that a slogan used for a campaign is quietly extended to cover other issues?

The key slogan during the Brexit campaign was “take back control”. However, this has now been extended to cover not only powers repatriated from Brussels but also to include those powers which have been passed by legislation to be the competence of the devolved parliament in Scotland and the assembly in Wales.

In an attempt to pull the wool over opposition eyes, the Prime Minister has requested the opposition parties to stop criticising and to put forward helpful suggestions and to work with her instead.

But Mrs May has proved time and time again that she dismisses any idea that has not originated with her – this means “work with” can be translated as “do as I want”.

It is also noticeable that she has not extended this idea to her Tory attack dogs in the Scottish Parliament who seize on any negative in a report( disregarding however many positives there are ), and amplify it beyond reason to make it look like a major and complete failing of the issue.

It is also sad to see that the Scottish Labour leader, Kezia Dugdale, automatically follows Ruth Davidson’s lead. Kezia certainly displays more of an aptitude to follow rather than one to lead: is she really so bereft of initiative and ideas?

Are her Labour colleagues not aware of this perception or do they no longer care?
