USP The other Old Town

-

While its equivalent area of Edinburgh can command some pretty high prices, it you are prepared to think laterally, you can have an Old Town home with plenty of character and space at an affordable price.

Oak Cottage, Old Town, Peebles, is in the historic heart of the Borders town and the semi-detached house is the epitome of country charm and character.

It has a quaint stone façade, a very pretty front garden and sash-andcase windows.

Traditional tiles grace the hall, the living room has an original fireplace equipped with a multi-fuel stove while the dining room has an open fire. There is a pantry under the stairs and the south-facing galley kitchen has a door to the garden patio.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate WC, and the whole house is presented in an immaculate condition.

Popular with families, Peebles has a picturesque setting on the River Tweed.

The historic market town is served by three primary schools and a high school and at just over 20 miles from Edinburgh, it offers an attractive location for those looking to escape to the country. Commuters are 30 minutes’ drive from the city bypass.

Oak Cottage also has plenty of unrestricted parking too, another thing you probably won’t find in Edinburgh’s Old Town.
