The Los Angeles Dodgers made it a perfect ten in Major League Baseball as they beat the Chicago White Sox 1-0. Clayton Kershaw’s accurate throwing saw him pitch seven shutout innings, helping the Dodgers to a tenth straight win – the second time they have racked up such an achievement this season. Chris Davis stole the show as the Baltimore Orioles hammered the Texas Rangers 12-1. Davis put in a career-best performance as he followed up a first-inning homer with a grand slam in the fourth, helping himself to a six-run haul. The Arizona Diamondbacks defeated Cincinnati Reds 11-2. Chris Herrmann struck a two-run homer in the fifth inning while Rey Fuentes added a three-run hit as the Diamondbacks stopped a five-game losing streak. The Pittsburgh Pirates scored all of their runs in a 4-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth inning, while St Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha’s first career shutout helped his side to a 5-0 win over the New York Mets. The Detroit Tigers beat the Kansas City Royals 9-3, the Houston Astros downed the Seattle Mariners 6-2 and five runs in the fifth inning helped the New York Yankees to a 6-3 win over the Minnesota Twins. There were also wins for the Philadelphia Phillies, the Colorado Rockies, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Chicago Cubs, the Washington Nationals, the Boston Red Sox and the San Francisco Giants.
