MY PREDICTIONS

-

TITLE TIP Rickie Fowler, right, has already been in contention in both The Masters and US Open this season and could be the man to make it eight first-time major winners in a row. The 2015 Scottish Open winner loves links golf and embraces the weather this event invariably throws up. DARK HORSE Dane Thorbjorn Olesen, below, showed his liking for links golf when producing polished performances at Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and St Andrews to win the Dunhill Links in 2015 and it only seems a matter of time before he makes his presence felt in one of the majors. TOP SCOT Richie Ramsay is in good form, having earned his place by tying for second in the Irish Open at Portstewart, and he just needs his putter to behave, having been let down by it in the final round of the Scottish Open, for this to be the first major in which he does himself justice. AMATEUR ACE On the back of how well he played to share top spot in one of the final qualifiers at Gailes Links just over a fortnight ago, Connor Syme has a real spring in his step and will be hoping to draw on the experience of playing in the Australian Open last year as he makes his major debut.
