Locals win fight to keep bells through night

Locals are celebrating after winning a battle to keep their beloved bells ringing at night.

Environmental health officers have now dropped their investigation following a complaint about the noise of the bells at Errol Parish Church in Perth.

That will mean the bells can ring on, much to the delight of the Reverend John Macgregor and the hundreds of local people who rallied in their support.

Environmental health confirmed the nuisance complaint from an unidentified person has now been withdrawn.
