Saints game is must-win, says Spittal
Blair Spittal is only one game into his Partick Thistle career but is already facing up to a crunch game.
The 21-year-old midfielder signed on a two-year deal from Dundee United in the summer and made his debut in the Jags’ Betfred Cup opener at Livingston last week.
The Ladbrokes Premiership side lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw which led to boss Alan Archibald describing the Group H visit of St Mirren on Saturday as a must-win game.
“It definitely is,” said Spittal. “It is early on in the season, but you can’t use that as an excuse, every team is the same. We will go out looking for three points.
“We want a half-decent cup run so Saturday is a big opportunity for us and we need to take as many points as we can from the next three games.
“I played against St Mirren last year and they are a good side and it will be a tough game.”
