Canning wants Accies to provide goal threat throughout 90 minutes

Hamilton Accies will give French defender Xavier Thomas a debut against visitors

Queen of the South but it is up front that manager Martin Canning wants to see most improvemen­t.

The New Douglas Park side came up with two goals in the last nine minutes to defeat East Kilbride last weekend and Canning said: “We need to be a side who convert their chances in a good ratio.” Queens manager Gary Naysmith said: “We are the underdogs but we will go to Hamilton looking to win.”

Kilmarnock travel to Annan with manager Lee Mcculloch hoping for a second consecutiv­e win following a 4-2 win over Clyde.

He said: “We found ourselves behind but everyone stayed cool and we will need that approach against Annan.”

Wary Galabank manager Peter Murphyadde­d: “Dom Thomas has been impressive in both Kilmarnock games. We will need to keep him quiet.”

Clyde host Dumbarton with Bully Wee boss Jim Chapman-observing: “Dumbarton will be smarting after losing to Ayr and they will come out all guns blazing.”

Dumbarton have added former Rangers, Queen of the South, St Mirren and Airdrie midfielder Kyle Hutton to their squad.

Forfar host Stirling Albion and manager Gary Bollan is pleased with the spirit his squad. “The players kept on going at Brechin on Tuesday to get an equaliser. We lost the shootout, but the commitment was great,” he said.

Stirling manager Dave Mackay wants more of what he saw against Inverness in midweek. He said: “Our display in the defeat at Falkirk was not good enough. I told the players I wanted better and I got that.
