Warning over fake £50 notes in circulation
Police Scotland is urging retailers and shoppers to be aware that a number of incidences were reported over the last few days of counterfeit £50 notes circulating in Tayside.
These incidents happened in Kirriemuir, Forfar, Arbroath, Dundee, Stanley and Auchterarder.
Officers are keen to trace a man who is described as aged around mid twenties, spoke with an Irish accent, and had dark brown hair and a beard, who was within Kirriemuir on the afternoon of Tuesday 18 July.
Retailers are advised to check all notes, in particular Bank of Ulster notes.
