China slaps bad behaviour ban on Bieber
Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China because of “bad behaviour”.
The Canadian pop star is a “talented singer”, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture but remains “controversial”.
In response to a question from a fan on its website, the city bureau said it was acting in the interests of imposing standards and “cleaning up” the domestic performance market.
Although it did not provide examples,it said Bieber’s private life abroad and while in China to perform, had caused “public dissatisfaction”.
“We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public,” the statement said.
