Vapinginprison?
The plan to stop prisoners from being able to smoke sounds like a draconian piece of legislation which is, no doubt, inspired by someone who thinks it would be “for their own good”.
No doubt not smoking is a good thing and, as a nonsmoker I would agree. However, there must be some limits to the amount that can be demanded of men (and women) who may face many years in an institution which is dangerous and probably lacks much in the way of humanity.
Since the government (and possibly the Scottish administration as well) are talking about normalising the use of vaporisers in offices and other communal places, is it too much to assume that they will, at least, allow prisoners access to these instead of cigarettes, or are we too inhuman to allow that either?
