Man dies after ‘violent attack’ in street

A man has died after being stabbed in a street in Paisley. Craig Mclelland, 31, was rushed to hospital following the attack in Tweed Avenue in the Renfrewshire town at about 11:20pm on Sunday but later died.

Police described it as a “violent attack” and said officers are working to hunt the “despicable individual responsible”.

Forensic officers have been searching the scene and examining CCTV footage from the area.

Detective Superintendent Allan Burton said: “It is absolutely imperative that we trace the despicable individual responsible.”
