Actor Idris Elba and Countdown’s Rachel Riley top bottoms poll

Actor Idris Elba has been named 2017 male Rear of the Year, fending off competition from Prince Harry and Harry Styles to take the top spot.

The Luther star was voted best male celebrity bottom in the annual contest, taking the coveted title from last year’s winner and fellow actor, Tom Hiddleston.

Prince Harry took second place, followed by 1997 winner Gary Barlow in third, former One Direction singer Styles in fourth, and Fifty Shades Of Grey star Jamie Dornan in fifth.

Meanwhile, the title of best female rear was won by Count- 0 Idris Elba’s toned physique helped him win the title down presenter Rachel Riley, 31, taking the baton from Hollyoaks star, Jennifer Metcalfe.

In a line-up dominated by TV presenters, Riley beat War and Peace star Lily James, who was second, plus Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon in third position, This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby in fourth position, and previous twotime winner, Carol Vorderman, in fifth.

Award organiser Tony Edwards said cycling and fitness enthusiast Riley’s bottom “marked a contrast to the exaggerated, fake, cosmetic look, recently imported from the US, which is unlikely to win any style awards in the UK”. And he said of Elba: “Idris is also a kick boxer which, along with his other workouts, has ensured a particularly well-toned, firm rear.”
