- By SCOTT REID

Heathfield Retail Park in Ayr, which is home to a string of big names including Halfords, Poundworld and Marks & Spencer, has changed hands for an undisclosed sum, it emerged yesterday.

Europa Capital and Ediston Real Estate have sold the site to an affiliate of MCAP Global Finance (UK) LLP, the London-based subsidiary of US credit manager Marathon Asset Management LP.

Heathfield was purchased in 2011 by Europa Capital and Ediston Real Estate and has subsequently been refurbished and extended to almost 200,000 square feet by the partnership.

Other tenants include DFS, Homebase and KFC. An agreement for a lease has also been signed with B&M for a unit that is currently being extended.

Danny O’neil of Ediston Real Estate said: “As a result of proactive asset management Heathfield Retail Park is now South Ayrshire’s pre-eminent retail park.”
