Brown faces four months out of action

-

Scotland and Glasgow Warriors hooker Fraser Brown will miss the start of the season and faces a race against time to be fit for the Autumn Tests in November.

The players who were on Scotland’s summer tour to Singapore, Australia and Fiji returned to pre-season training at Scotstoun yesterday, but Brown was not among them.

Last week the 28-yearold successfully underwent ankle surgery at the BMI Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow.

Brown, who has played 28 times for his country and has featured in all eight Test matches in 2017, is expected to face a recovery period of up to four months.

The first Autumn Test is against Samoa on 11 November, while Glasgow start their season in early September.

Meanwhile, following his involvement in the British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand, winger Tommy Seymour will have an extended rest period and will join up with his club team-mates next month.
