#LOVEISLAND

Love Island’s finale left viewers devastated that the reality TV show was over. Some more than others. @alex_brooker posted: “I honestly don’t know what I’m going to do without #Loveisland in my life. And I’ve got over losing a foot.” @fmcguigan813 tweeted: “ITV best be whipping up a #loveisland winter series in a ski lodge with flasks instead of water bottles. I am not ready to wait a full year.” @Hubbuckox shared: “Is there a fanclub for life after #loveisland where £2 a month gets you an update letter just like when you adopt an animal?!” @Itsmarkwebster joked: “If I had a pound for every minute of #Loveisland I’ve seen I’d have no pounds. No pounds at all. Not a one.” @Barrywhyte85 observed: “You know the country’s screwed when people will vote who they want to win #Loveisland, but they won’t vote in actual political elections.”

#NHS

News that the number of vacancies in the NHS has risen by 12 per cent over the last year to more than 80,000 left social media posters bemused and angry, with the Tory government coming in for criticism. @Leefergusson said: “It is no suprise given that they have had no pay rise for seven years and [there is] relentless workload pressure that there are 80,000 NHS posts vacant.” @Willblackwriter tweeted: “80,000 NHS vacancies is a tragedy. Sadistic austerity has made it extremely difficult to be a nurse in much of the country.” @Mrsn_64 noted: “Dept of Health said staffing a priority & more money being invested in frontline staff. How about a pay rise then?” @Theskaevolution shared: “80,000 NHS vacancies. Friends of mine finishing their nursing qualifications are turning to agencies for better-paid work!”

#CHARLIEGARD

Charlie Gard’s parents ended a five-month legal battle over their child’s treatment and want to bring home the baby to spend their remaining time together. @Elainer22 tweeted: “My heart is breaking for little #Charliegard and his Mum and Dad, what an awful, shattering thing for the family to go through.” @1979Maffie said: “GOSH are a child hospital and would have the best interest for any child and are professionals. STOP the bashing no need for it.” that the SNP haven’t a clue how to provide, the son of a tradesman from a council house in Paisley getting to the very top in society.
