Taylor joins Edinburgh Uni as coach

-

Former Scotland player Simon Taylor will help some of the country’s best young players progress after joining the Edinburgh University coaching team.

Back-row Taylor won 66 Scotland caps between 2000 and 2009 and was with the Lions on the 2001 and 2005 tours to Australia and New Zealand.

Most recently coaching with Watsonians, he has now teamed up with David Adamson, head coach at Edinburgh University.

Taylor, 37, said: “The profile of university rugby is very much on the rise and students have a big contribution to make to the game.

“I look forward to working with the players ahead of what I am sure will be a special occasion at the Varsity match in September.”

Edinburgh play St Andrews on 23 September at BT Murrayfield.
