FCA unveils appointment to Scotlandfocused role
0 Maggie Craig says she is ‘very much looking forward’ to starting in the new role in September The UK’S financial watchdog has appointed pensions industry expert Maggie Craig head of its Scotland department in a newly created role.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which has about 90 staff at its offices in Edinburgh, said Craig will be tasked with driving its presence in Scotland and “contributing to Scottish aspects of FCA policies”.
Craig, who has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services in roles including director of Scottish affairs at the Association of British Insurers, starts in September. She said: “Our continued presence in Scotland is extremely important and through developing a new strategy we’ll be able to maximise our impact.”
Chief executive Andrew Bailey said: “This is a significant step and underlines our commitment to our presence in Scotland.”
The FCA yesterday also published plans to extend the Senior Managers Regime to almost all regulated firms, in a bid to help consumers.
