Vandals target centre for vulnerable people

A centre for vulnerable people with additional support needs had its windows smashed by “mindless” vandals during a spate of incidents.

The offences happened between 11pm on Wednesday and1amyest­erdayindud­dingston View and Bingham Avenue, Edinburgh.

Several cars and buildings had their windows smashed including a sheltered housing complex for youngsters and adults with additional support needs.

Chief Inspector Kevin Mclean said: “This mindless criminal activity has affected some of the most vulnerable people in the area.

“The resulting damage has caused a significan­t impact on the services that these local organisati­ons are able to offer the community.

“We are appealing for informatio­n and would ask anyone who can assist our inquiries to get in touch with us as soon as possible. This will help us to trace those responsibl­e and hold them to account.”

Officers are trying to trace two men who were seen on bikes in the area at the time.
