Just Eat, the online food delivery business, has hiked its fullyear revenue guidance after a surge in profits and sales.

Pre-tax profits rose 46 per cent to £49.5 million in the six months to the end of June, while revenues jumped 44 per cent to £247m.

Order numbers, meanwhile, increased 24 per cent to 80.4 million in the period, with a solid improvement in the UK as well as its international business. The firm said its first-half sales were ahead of hopes, leading it to raise its revenue guidance for 2017.
