Appeal over theft of high-performance cars
Detectives investigating the theft of three high-performance cars have made a nationwide appeal to try and trace them.
Three Ford Sierra RS Cosworths were stolen overnight from a property in the Buchan area of Aberdeenshire between 14-15 July. Police say the cars, worth a combined six-figure sum, were taken from a property in Main Street, Longside.
A moonstone blue Ford Sierra RS Cosworth with gold alloy wheels and a rare black RS500 model are still outstanding.
A modified white version of the car was also taken but has since been recovered.
Sightings of similar vehicles have been reported in other parts of the country and police have appealed to the public, regardless of where they live, to get in touch if they can help trace them.
Detective Constable Richard Cooper said: “These are not run-of-the-mill cars and would attract attention if sold online or through collectors, in particular the black version of which only a limited number have ever been made.
“We have been liaising with other Police Scotland divisions and other UK forces during our inquiries so far, however would ask that the public also assist us and let us know if you have information which could help. Anyone with information should call 101.”
