#SCARAMUCCI
Donald Trump’s new communications director, businessman Anthony Scaramucci, has made waves after an on-the-record rant to a journalist in which he swore about White House colleagues and threatened to fire his entire staff.
@Chaplinlives joked: “Scaramucci thinks that he channels the Sopranos, but everybody knows he’s more like a reject from reality show Jersey Shore.”
@Glennscheyd remarked: “It’s still early days, but I expect Anthony Scaramucci to become one of the most beloved recurring TV guest stars since Disco Stu from the Simpsons.”
@Scyeatts noted: “Why should anyone but Donald Trump’s base be surprised by the actions of Anthony Scaramucci? Where are all those ‘family values’ now?”
#IRISHSEA
Some reports yesterday morning suggested that the Irish Government wanted to officially move the border with the UK from its current position with Northern Ireland to the Irish Sea, to seemingly smooth some of the border difficulties arising from the Brexit negotiations.
@wdjstraw tweeted: “The only way for the Democratic Unionist Party to avoid a hard border with Ireland and a border in the Irish Sea is to stay in the customs union.”
@Britishsos countered: “Good luck to the ridiculous Irish politicians, attempting to suggest a new border in the Irish Sea. Idiots. We are your biggest market.”
@Johnfmcgowan wrote: “The Irish Sea is the only sensible option for a border between Ireland and the UK. This is the most sensible thing I’ve heard from the Irish Government so far.”
#NEYMAR
Brazilian striker Neymar, who could become the most expensive player in history as rumours grow of a move to PSG, had to be restrained as he tried to fight teammate Nelson Semedo at Barcelona training in Miami.
@Rkfutbol commented: “Neymar is clearly the easiest player to wind up, while in contrast Messi is the most difficult to wind up. Annoy Neymar and he loses it, annoy Messi, he’ll destroy your team.”
@Roynemer predicted: “Between Angel Di Maria’s low football IQ and Neymar’s petulance, Paris Saintgermain are going to be a freak show next season.”
@Gabymo wrote: “Selling Neymar for an estimated £200m is starting to look like really good business for Barcelona – he thinks he’s bigger than the team.”
