Swimmer wins second world championship medal
SILVER LINING IN BUDAPEST FOR SCOTT
Scotland’s Duncan Scott, pictured far right, earned his second medal at the World Swimming Championships last night as the Great Britain team won silver in the 4x100m medley relay.
The 20-year-old from the University of Stirling, will return home from Budapest with a gold and a silver, the first one coming in the 4x200m freestyle relay on Friday evening.
Following on from, left to right, Chris Walkerhebborn, Adam Peaty and James Guy, Scott held his nerve on the final leg to hold off Russia for second place. The US won gold.
Ross Murdoch, Scott’s 23-year-old clubmate, did not swim in the final and missed out on his moment on the podium, but swam in the heat and earned a medal. Scots won a total of five medals at the championships.
Second place in medley relay adds to freestyle gold for young Scot as Murdoch also picks up a medal
