Eight-year-old hit by car seriously injured

Police are appealing for witnesses after an eightyear-old girl was seriously hurt when struck by a car.

The youngster was hit by a red Honda Civic in Armadale, West Lothian.

She suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh for treatment.

Police Scotland are keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident, which took place at about 3:50pm on Friday in Lower Bathville, to the east of the junction with Station Road.
