Husband of missing Aberdeen women in plea for search help

- By CONOR RIORDAN

The husband of a missing woman has told how every day it becomes more difficult to understand what has happened to her.

Nusrat Jahan was reported missing from her home in Duff Street, Aberdeen, on Thursday evening.

The 34-year-old had suggested to a friend that she might head towards the beach.

But concerns grew for her wellbeing when she did not return and a major land, sea and air search was launched in an effort to trace her.

The last confirmed sighting 0 Nusrat Jahan has been missing since last Thursday of her was at Marischal College at around 4pm on Thursday.

Her partner Colin Dow said: “It has been five days since Nusrat went missing and with each day that passes we are finding it increasingly difficult to come to terms with the fact no-one has seen or heard from her since.

“We are extremely grateful for the support police have had so far from the public by providing information and potential sightings of Nusrat. The sad reality though is that she is still missing and we don’t know where she is.

“To anyone else who can help us understand what has happened to Nusrat, I would ask you to get in touch with police as soon as possible and tell them what you know.”

Searches were continuing to the south of the city from Aberdeen beach yesterday.
