Marching orders: Putting the finishing touches to performance for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
Members of a military band take part in the dress rehearsal at Redford Barracks ahead of the first performance at the 2017 Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo which starts tomorrow night.
More than 1,200 performers will take part in the 68th annual event at Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade. This year’s theme ‘Splash of Tartan’ celebrates Scotland’s Year of History, Heritage and Archaeology by hosting more than 3,000 clans folk from 57 clans across the 25 performances. The event also pays tribute to the Royal Navy and the UK’S maritime heritage.
