‘I want my family’: Syrians stranded in Greece protest outside embassy

-

Stranded migrants and refugees scuffle with riot policemen outside the German Embassy during a protest in Athens.

About 150 people, most from Syria, were protesting against Germany’s decision to limit the number of family reunifications from Greece.

Protesters held up cardboard banners in English reading “I want my family” and shouted slogans about travel to Germany. About 60,000 refugees and migrants have been in Greece for more than a year after border closures in the Balkans halted their planned onward journey to western and central Europe.
