What witchhunt?

-

Mary Thomas falls just short of calling for Michelle Thomson to be given sainthood (Letters, 3 August).

I do not recall the frenzied BBC witchhunt regarding Ms Thomson alleged by Mary Thomas. In fact, I have been convinced there was a D-notice placed on the issues concerning both Ms Thomson and Natalie Mcgarry, as hardly any coverage was given by BBC Reporting Scotland to either. How different the coverage would have been in England if the allegations had concerned an English MP. The police clearly thought there was enough evidence to place the matter before the procurator Fiscal, who decided not to proceed after a lengthy period on the grounds that “there is not sufficient evidence at this time”. Mary Thomas is typical of SNP supporters who simply will not accept the possibility that everything relating to the SNP might not be perfect. DONALD LEWIS
