Union condemns plan to shut site

Workers have been told that engineering firm Delphi Diesel Systems is to close a plant in Suffolk with the loss of 500 jobs.

The Unite union called on the UK government to step up its industrial strategy after being told that the site will be scaled down and closed in 2020, even though it is profitable.

The plant makes fuel injectors and filters.
