Migrant vote error
Migrants, whether from the EU, the Commonwealth or the myriad other countries from which our modern population is drawn, have contributed markedly to Scotland and the UK over many years.
However, do those who desire independence from the United Kingdom after over 300 successful years yet who want to subjugate that independence to the European dream really want to wake up after a second independence referendum to find they have “won” only because EU migrants in Scotland tipped the vote in favour of their hopes? Does the SNP want to win the referendum vote in this way and against the wishes of a majority of Scots?
Independence should come only if a sizeable majority – Ms Sturgeon once upon a time set that at 60 per cent – of longterm residents of this country and who are truly committed to Scotland have weighed up all the issues and still want it, and not because a significant, potentially temporary, group areconcernedabouttheirown personal future and residence status.
