Ruairidh’s having a reel good time

Three-year-old budding piper Ruairidh Nicoll from Ayrshire gets into the spirit on the first day of the world’s biggest piping festival which is taking place this week in Glasgow. Piping Live! – the Glasgow Internatio­nal Piping Festival – will run until Sunday and is set to attract thousands of musicians and visitors from around the world to the city.

Pipers yesterday kicked off the world’s biggest piping festival, which will see musicians from 14 countries perform in Glasgow. Piping Live! will see more than 40,000 music fans, families and tourists flock to the city from countries from across the globe – including Estonia, Argentina, Canada, the Czech Republic and Italy – to enjoy 200 events and watch 8,000 performers throughout the week.
