124mph biker caught by police on the A1

A motorcyclist travelling at up to 124mph was caught by traffic police in a 50mph limit on the A1 on Monday.

The incident happened near Newcraighall around 8.10pm.

A 48-year-old man has been reported to the procurator fiscal.

Road Policing Inspector Roger Park said: “Motorcyclists and the wider motoring public alike should be aware of our ongoing motorcycle safety campaign.

“We will be using marked and unmarked cars and motorcycles in partnership with our camera unit.”
