Teenager killed after crashing BMW into bridge

A teenager has died after crashing into a bridge.

The accident happened just after 7pm on the A7 road at Kirkton Burn bridge at Bush of Ewes, between Hawick and Langholm.

Harry Blowing, 18, from Carlisle, was removed from the car, a black BMW 320, by firefighters and then airlifted to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, where he later died.

The road at the scene was closed to allow a full traffic collision examination to take place and to inspect the damage caused to the bridge parapet.
