Act on beggars

-

Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow chamber of commerce, was right to highlight his concerns about the effects of beggars in our city streets putting off shoppers from going to our city centres and that something needs to be done urgently about it.

This is a national problem and requires a national solution but the current SNP administration brush these problems aside and blame the cash-strapped local authorities for not doing their job.

I see little point in having a Scottish SNP government who choose to ignore national problems and are preoccupied with the independence issue which is now a dead duck in the water. DENNIS FORBES GRATTAN Mugiemoss Road, Bucksburn,
