Dundee Cheerio, optimism
We’re barely into August, and I already feel that the optimism I felt going into this season is beginning to crumble.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m no fantasist. I would be content with solid safety, and delighted with a top-six finish. But the manner of our defeat by Ross County and the lack of bite in the first Betfred Cup derby flies in the face of the performances and burgeoning partnerships that I’d seen in pre-season.
Some neutrals have written off our new No 9 Sofien Moussa, but I think with the right partner or delivery he could be lethal – here’s hoping he proves me right.
I’m writing before last night’s derby, and it may sound melodramatic but I think it could make or break our chances of a successful season.
