Ross County Delight at Draper deal

With news breaking in late afternoon that Ross Draper was expected to join Ross County, the Staggies went into the cup match against Motherwell in buoyant mood.

The centre of County’s midfield has needed a physical, commanding presence since Jackson Irvine left and arguably even before then. There are few teams at this level who don’t have at least one midfielder with a monster physique to dominate the middle of the pitch.

Draper has his critics – in terms of pure technique, he isn’t the most gifted – but there are few in the league who can match him at what he does best. Being able to buy one of Inverness’s key players when they are at a low ebb just reinforces our bragging rights.
