Transport police officers ‘assaulted’

Two police officers have allegedly been assaulted at a railway station in Edinburgh.

Officers were called to Haymarket at around 11am on Tuesday after reports of a man being verbally abusive.

A 24-year-old was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated threatening and abusive behaviour and assault.

During the arrest, two British Transport Police officers were allegedly assaulted. The man who was arrested in connection with the incident was further held on suspicion of resisting arrest.
