Murder inquiry after man found dead in flat

A murder investigation has been launched over the death of a man in East Dunbartonshire.

The body of Frederick Mcgettigan, known as Ricky, was found by police at around 8:30am on Wednesday in a flat in Clelland Avenue, Auchinairn, Bishopbriggs.

A post-mortem examination was carried out on the 51-year-old yesterday and the death is now being treated as murder.

Mr Mcgettigan was last seen at around 10:30am on Sunday when he visited a friend in Balornock. Officers are trying to establish where he went next.
