Watchdog probes teenager’s arrest
A police watchdog has opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the arrest of a teenage boy in Cumbernauld.
The Police Investigations & Review Commissioner said its inquiries were focused on Police Scotland’s arrest of the 14-year-old on 21 July.
It is understood the teenager suffered injuries at the time of the arrest, although they were not life-threatening.
The matter was referred to the PIRC by the Crown Office, which will receive a report in due course.
