Man gets 12 years for £10 loan killing
A man who admitted stabbing an associate to death during a fight in Kirkcaldy was jailed for 12-and-a-half years at the High Court in Glasgow yesterday.
Forty-one-year-old James Beveridge died after the disturbance at Farne Court in the town on October 15, 2016.
William Paterson, 46, stabbed Mr Beveridge in the neck over a dispute about a £10 loan.
Paterson was sentenced having pleaded guilty to culpable homicide.
Local police wished to “extend sympathies to James’s family and friends”.
