Four taken to hospital after road smash

Four people were treated in hospital following a road crash on the A78 at Ardrossan .

Police said a 71-year-old man was driving a silver Vauxhall Corsa car when it collided with a silver Ford Focus at 4pm on Saturday.

The Corsa driver and his 69-year-old female passenger were taken to University Hospital at Crosshouse, Kilmarnock, along with the 78-year-old driver of the Ford Focus and his 69-year-old female passenger.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
