Scots pipe band wins world championships
A Scottish band has won the World Pipe Band Championships.
Inveraray and District Pipe Band, from Argyll, beat Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, from Lisburn, Northern Ireland, which came second.
Almost 35,000 people attended the two-day event on Glasgow Green.
Organisers said that 219 bands, including 8,000 pipers from 15 nations, took part in the contest as it marked its 70th year.
