Peterhead enjoyed a second League 2 win by beating Elgin City 3-0 at Balmoor.

Rory Mcallister took advantage of slack defending to fire in from a tight angle on 23 minutes and the striker also slotted in a penalty in first-half injury time.

Allan Smith rolled in the third 12 minutes into the second half, the only disappointment for the hosts being the late dismissal of Nicky Riley.

Manager Jim Mcinally said: “It was a good win but there is more to come from this group.”

Stirling Albion are also on six points after they defeated Berwick Rangers 4-0, Darrensmithnettingtwicebefore the break, with Ross Kavanagh along with an own goal by Ollie Fleming completing the scoring.

Stenhousemuir picked up their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at Montrose ,but it could have been more had referee Chris Graham decided that Harry Paton’s shot had crossed the line after bouncing down from the underside of the bar.

Mark Mcguigan shrugged off that disappointment to nod the Warriors ahead with 20 minutes left. Graham Webster, however, quickly levelled.

Cowdenbeath sent Edinburgh City tothefootofthe table with a 1-0 win at Central Park, where Ben Stirling scored from six yards with half an hour gone.

Former Annan players Barry Cuddihy and Smart Osadolor were on target as Clyde defeated the Galabank side 2-1 at Broadwood. Cuddihy netted in the first half and Osadolor in the second before former team-mate Rabin Omar pulled a goal back.
